Diversity Match is in direct response to the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) pillar on accessible procurement to promote the meaningful participation of people with disabilities in procurement inside and outside large procurement organizations.

Why we are doing this?

Diversity Match has been designed to remove barriers in procurement for people with disabilities and give disabled-owned companies a better platform for accessing real, tangible procurement opportunities with leading organizations across the country.

In creating Diversity Match, we realized that this platform can do the same thing for other equity seeking businesses including Veterans, Indigenous, LGBTQ, Women and visible minorities. Diversity match is a powerful accessible procurement platform for large procurement organizations to engage certified diverse suppliers in relevant levels of procurement for small businesses.

What are we trying to solve?

Accessibility barriers we remediate in procurement:

Based on the 2 year research project conducted by Adaptability Canada on behalf of Accessible Standards Canada (ASC), a number of systemic barriers were identified that Diversity Match now remediates in whole or in part:

  • Preference for large suppliers in procurement
  • Procurement requirements too limiting
  • Poor awareness of diverse suppliers in the organization
  • Poor or no way to access diverse suppliers during buyer research
  • Poor awareness of procurement opportunities in organizations
  • No access to small procurement opportunities (sole source and invite to bid)
  • Procurement process too complex or difficult
  • Poor or not tracking of diverse spend through Tier 1 Suppliers

Diversity Match is a collaboration between Adaptability Canada and Prompta AI.
